Capita has linked products and services of Webline, its adviser portal and BDML, its general insurance aggregation service. It is a further development of the Capita Enabler programme which aims to deliver a fully integrated adviser desktop and support a broad range of retail financial services products, benefiting advisers, distributors, providers and customers alike.

Capita said the advantage of linking up services meant intermediaries could now use Webline to obtain directly comparable household insurance quotations from BDML's panel of the UK's top household insurers.

A link-up between Capita’s Webline adviser portal and BDML insurance service will allow advisers to compare household and building insurance through their Capita Enabler desktop software.

Advisers can obtain comparable insurance quotations from a panel of nine insurers, soon to grow to 14.

Capita today announced that it has acquired Synaptic, a major provider of research information and software aimed at independent financial advisers (IFAs) and financial product providers, for an undisclosed sum.

Synaptic's tools, which are already used by more than 10,000 IFAs and many major product providers, support systematic, thorough, product research across the financial services marketplace including pensions, life, health, investment, mortgage and offshore products.
